Theresa Sensible, the long-serving CEO of the Royal Tv Society (RTS), will retire in 2026.

She has been in control of the influential British TV organisation for effectively over a decade. “After virtually 13 unforgettable years as CEO of the Royal Tv Society, I've made the choice to retire from full time work,” stated Sensible.

A course of to search out her successor has begun for Sensible, who is called a staunch champion of the RTS’s work and for its place in British broadcasting.

“The RTS is a novel and very important a part of the UK’s world-leading tv and streaming media panorama and I’m immensely happy with what we now have achieved over the previous few years,” stated Sensible. “Our academic programmes are stronger than ever, our members are very engaged, our occasions programme continues to set the gold commonplace throughout the business, the nationwide and regional centres are thriving and the crew on the RTS is world class.”

All3Media CEO Jane Turton, who's Chair of the RTS, stated: “Theresa has made an enormous and lasting contribution to the RTS. Her dynamism, ardour, and dedication have been superb. It has been a pleasure working together with her as she has grown and developed the Society, launching new initiatives just like the Mini MBA, strengthening the Bursary Scheme and continuously innovating and delivering the best high quality throughout all the RTS actions. On behalf of the Board and everybody on the RTS, I wish to thank Theresa for an excellent contribution to the Society.”

Information of Sensible’s exit is available in a dramatic week for British TV following the scandal over a doctored Donald Trump speech that led to the exits of BBC Director Common Tim Davie and BBC Information CEO Deborah Turness.
